Holy moly has it been one heck of a busy year already, and it shows no sign of abating anytime soon!

We are now past the half way point through 2018 and shamefully it’s been over a year since my last post… So much has happened and changed in that time, where do I even start?

So far I have had an absolutely phenomenal year with Sealy MacWheely; I have already travelled up and down the length of Great Britain, with even more travelling left to come, both hawking IMG_7832my wares at festivals and teaching some incredible students at workshops. My first festival of the year was down in beautiful Builth Wells at the ginormous WonderWool Wales, followed just a fortnight later by the first ever Aberdeen YarnFest.

In addition to the bigger fibre festivals I have also been lucky enough to attend some smaller events including the ever-lovely Milngavie Makers Market and the annual gathering of Tynedale Spinners, Dyers and Weavers Guild in Northumberland (that was one heck of an early start!)

And the fun doesn’t stop there, if my social media is looking a little quiet at the moment be assured it is due to excessive amounts of behind the scenes toil and labour! Between now and October (ie the next three months) I shall be attending the following fibre festivals:

YarnFolk (Whitehead, Northern Ireland) – Saturday 4th August
Perth Festival of Yarn (Perth, Scotland) – Weekend of 8th – 9th September
YarnDale (Skipton, North Yorkshire) – Weekend of 29th – 30th September
Loch Ness Knit Fest (Inverness, Scotland) – Weekend of 20th – 21st October

Be sure to pop by and say hi if you are attending any of the above – I love to put faces to names!

I also have some extra crazy exciting news to come but as it’s still very much in the planning stagesIMG_7854 I’m afraid I’m going to have to keep hush for just a wee while longer… Suffice to say that I am working my backside off at the moment and there will be a huge announcement coming up in the next few months.

Along with this my website shall be undergoing a massive upheaval over the next few weeks so if you wish to be kept in the loop about my big news you can sign up to my online newsletter or keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram pages for more information as it comes…

I can’t wait to let you all know about my plans but in the meantime I have about 38 piles of fibre crying out to be carded and a to-do list longer than my arm!

Chì mi a dh’aithghearr sibh!

Katie x
