As Scotland is beginning to reopen after lockdown I have chosen to open the shop on a strict appointment-only basis from 8th August 2020.
Appointments will last up to 15 minutes and are limited to a maximum of 3 people from the same household at one time. Hand sanitising stations will be available upon entry to the shop and face masks are mandatory as per Scottish governmental guidelines. I myself shall be wearing a visor to ensure that my customers who rely on lipreading are able to do so, although I would be happy to apply a mask as well as visor upon request.
Contactless payments are preferable although chip and pin payments will also be accepted and device cleaned after every interaction. Apologies but cash payments will not be accepted within the shop for the foreseeable future.
Although squishing yarn and fibre is usually heartily encouraged, for health and safety reasons please keep touching to a minimum and focussed on skeins that particularly speak out to you. Although the risk of infection through soft furnishings is low, it is a risk I would rather not take and safety of all my customers is paramount.
If you are late or miss your appointment I will try and squeeze you in but please note that I cannot guarantee that you will be granted access to the shop so please arrive in a timely manner or rearrange for a later time or date accordingly. Likewise, I cannot guarantee access for anyone who arrives without a pre-booked appointment time and it is in your own interest to ensure that you have a reservation to prevent potential long wait times or return visits.
If you arrive early for your appointment please wait two metres from the doorway to the left (in front of the window), should it be possible to see you before your time slot I shall wave you in enthusiastically (I have barely seen another human in so long I am pretty certain I will be like an excitable puppy!)
Lastly, and I apologise for having to say this as it should be pretty obvious to you all already – please do not visit the shop if you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19. If in doubt please get tested, I’ve done it – it’s not comfortable but it is quick and painless and a negative result is a massive weight off the mind.
This system is hopefully temporary and will be liable to change at short notice in line with governmental guidance so your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Thank you and I am truly excited to be seeing you again soon,
